SUMMARY:Monture Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the BCHMT Monture Gathering August 19 – 22 \n\nWith the past two conventions cancelled due to Covid\, we have missed you. The BCHMT officers and state directors invite you to join us at the Monture trailhead. Everyone is welcome and can join us for any part of the weekend that they are able. \nThursday: arrive after noon and ride\, socialize around the campfire\nFriday: ride\, horse training and packing demos in the late afternoon and evening\, socialize\naround the campfire\, campfire chat with Smoke Elser\nSaturday: ride\, dinner and campfire\, Dr Eva Maggie will have a short presentation about the UM\nWilderness & Policy class\, for which BCHMT provided scholarships\nSunday: ride and leave for home \nDinner Saturday evening will be pork roast\, chicken\, beans\, green salad\, potato salad\, corn bread\nand desert. Trish and Mike Foster will be cooking and Bob Marshall Wilderness Outfitters will\nbe bringing desert. \nThe Monture Guard Station is about 8 miles north of Highway 200 near Ovando MT. It is a\ntrailhead for the south end of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. We have permission to use\nthe guard station and there is a very nice public trailhead. The public trailhead has several corrals\nas well as feed bunks and hitchrails. There are several trails in the area for all riding abilities.\nThere is plenty of room to set up your highline or portable corrals. \nPlease bring hay for your horses and there is water in Monture Creek. \nPlease bring food for yourself and your family for the weekend. \nDinner Saturday evening will be $10 per person.
