DESCRIPTION:Good afternoon\, \nAs you know the BCHMT State Convention is happening here in Bozeman in a couple of weeks. One of the events is a crosscut saw competition. It’s kinda fun and challenging at the same time. We are having several categories: \nMen Singles\nWomen Singles\nMen Pairs\nWomen Pairs\nCo-Ed Pairs \nSo\, just in case anyone is interested in sawing in a competition but not sure about their technique or abilities or their heart rate\, we will be holding some “training” or “conditioning” sessions to get people familiar with using a crosscut saw. The actual time to cut through a 10-12″ log will be around 45 – 60 seconds. If you’re hesitant because you think you might not be able to keep the saw moving for a full minute this training session will be a good place to find out. You’ll be able to compete in the Singles category AND get a partner and compete in the Pairs category AND get a partner of the opposite sex and compete in the Co-Ed category. Or you can do any one of those. \nWe will also be having some chainsaw training along with the crosscut training described above. If you are anxious to get out on the trail and clear downed trees with a chainsaw but don’t have the skills to be able to get certified by the Forest Service\, we can help you. We will have experienced sawyers there to give everyone the help they need to operate a chainsaw safely and efficiently. Please note that this training is not a substitute for the actual certification test that the Forest Service will require. \nRight now\, we are planning a session for Sunday March 15th at 1:00 pm and another session on Tuesday March 17th at 1:00 pm.
