Go west on Highway 87 (200) to Hobson turnoff. Go through Hobson turn right at school. Go West to Utica – Oxen Yoke Inn, turn left through Utica Rd 1. Go past Sapphire Village to a Y junction on #1 Turn to Right at Judith Ranger Station sign #822. But keep right at that fork to go to Middle Fork Campground. Road stops at vault toilet. Usually camp along trees at left side.
Primitive campground. No potable water. Creek water for livestock 1/4 mile south from campsite. Highline, hobbles or picket line advisable. Many well marked trails both with and without motorized vehicle traffic access. Most trails have many water crossings but are not difficult. Some easy short trails as well.
Access to following trails:
- Arch Cooley (shoes, many water crossings, some steep areas, motorized vehicles)
- Middle Fork (short easy trail along creek)
- Judith Ranger Station (fairly easy trail with many water crossings, one steep small climb)
- Wildlife Management area (easy road trails up to and open spaces in area, no water)
- Wood Chopper Ridge ( steep climb, motorized trails). A map is advised.
