SUMMARY:Big Hole Area Trail Clearing\, Lookout Opening and Campout: Celebrate National Trails Day
DESCRIPTION:Participate one or multiple days from May 31st to June 7th as we campout at the gravel pit (also known as the new equine Big Hole Lookout trailhead) and clear area trails\, open up the lookout and to get it ready for the rental season beginning June 7th. \nHow to help: Clear the two roads behind the yearlong gate closures of woody debris and rocks using stock\, ATVs\, UTVs or pickups for access. Help with clearing the other several trails in the area.  Help open and clean the lookout. \nThe work is directly related to our Challenge Cost Share agreement and the RAC grant we renewed the fall of 2023. \n \n  \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Gather to Meet Up\, to Reconnect with Old Friends and Meet Some New Ones.  Bring your horse\, mule\, family and friends. Ride trails\, share a meal\, learn some new things\, visit around the campfire and camp over the weekend. \nThis event is open to the public and hosted by the Missoula Backcountry Horsemen.\nWHAT: An overnight camping experience for backcountry enthusiasts. Bring highlines/panels to secure your horses overnight. Toilets and hand-washing stations available. Saturday night dinner provided for a small fee (details to come).\nWHERE: Blackfoot Clearwater Game Management Area – located in Missoula and Powell counties\, take MT Highway 200 east approximately 6 miles from its junction with MT Highway 83 to Woodworth county road. Follow Woodworth county road north approximately 2 miles to the main entrance.\nALSO: This area is known for a healthy grizzly population. Please be bear aware and take proper precautions in storing food and personal safety.

SUMMARY:Cabin Lake - South Fork of Four Lakes Trail Clearing
DESCRIPTION:Join with the Cube Iron – Cataract Coalition to work on our in-kind commitment for a Recreational Trails Program Grant the Forest Service successfully obtained to install 3 pedestrian bridges on the Cabin Lake – South Fork of Four Lakes loop trail.  We’ll begin by clearing and brushing the trail the last week in June and later help pack in an MCC crew to Cabin Lake where they’ll be installing one of the bridges. \n  \nWHPBCH and CICC ford the outlet of Cabin lake where one of the 3 pedestrian is to be installed by MCCs \nTrail Clearing along the South Fork of Four Lakes Trail in 2018. \n \nMembers of the Cube Iron – Cataract Coalition brushing the South Fork of Four Lakes Trail in 2018. \n
