The Halter and Lead Rope

The halter should be of good quality. Halters made entirely of rope are a good option.

It should be light and contain a single latch.

It should be easy to work with.

A ½ inch diameter lead rope is best. Your fingers can close over it easily and it provides a substantial tie for the horse as needed.
