All
trailers should have:
- Secure footing, such as rubber mats, on the floor
to provide traction
and cushioning for pack or saddlestock being loaded, unloaded,
and transported.
- Racks or sideboards.
- Trailer brakes for all trailers
1500 pounds gross trailer weight and
over. The brakes must be set to engage when the driver in
the towing
vehicle applies the normal truck service brakes.
- A round metal or rubber bumper for the rear of the
trailer.
- Appropriate height and length clearance, and no
sharp edges or loose
boards that might injure pack or saddlestock during transport.
Always
check your trailer for a sound floor in good condition. |
