Our chapter was started in 1981 with Tag Rittle, the first President, and Paula Grossman being instrumental in the development of the Last Chance club. Bill Maloit, a chapter member from the start, was an advocate for the club and the Back Country Horsemen of Montana. Bill played an important role in helping to establish other chapters throughout the state. Most of our projects have extensive involvement with the local Forest Service Districts and other clubs who have shared interests of preserving our backcountry trails and keeping them accessible for the general public for enjoyment. Our goals are to keep an active and productive chapter as well as to assist the Forest Service and other agencies in keeping trails available for people and stock.

Our Mission Statement
